SETTING THE STANDARD FOR FENCES & OUTDOOR LIVING IN AUSTIN, TX

fences that hold up

Our difference is in the details.

Our standard starts with solid materials and thoughtful construction. We use quality lumber, heavy-duty fasteners, and reliable hardware, then set each post at the proper depth for the soil it’s going into. That groundwork is what keeps a fence steady for the long haul.

The way a fence is laid out and assembled matters just as much. Proper spacing, straight alignment, and secure attachment points help prevent sagging, twisting, and uneven wear as the seasons change. These details may not stand out at first glance, but they’re what keep the gates swinging and fence lines looking straight long after installation day.

STANDARD & CUSTOM STYLES

elevated outdoors

Designed around how you actually use your yard.

Beyond fences and gates, we offer a range of outdoor solutions that make your yard more usable and enjoyable. Concrete walkways, retaining walls, raised garden beds, and trellises all help define spaces, manage grade changes, and create a more natural flow through your yard.

We like to think through each of these pieces from the start. Whether you’re dealing with drainage, planning a dedicated garden area, or adding structure to an open space, we’ll walk through the options and help you prioritize what makes sense for your yard and how you use your space.

backed by experience

Decades of hands-on craftsmanship.

Our owner has nearly 20 years in the fencing industry, with hands-on fence and gate building experience in both rocky, high-desert conditions and the expansive clay soils of Central Texas.

For almost a decade of that, he's worked alongside several members of today’s Paragon crew. That continuity matters. It means shared standards, aligned expectations, and a team that already knows how to execute together.

We don’t just talk about experience — we document it. From early projects to recent builds, our time-stamped photos show the work.

the paragon difference

our warranty

Most fence companies warranty their work, but hope you don’t call. We do it differently. Every Paragon fence includes a 1-year craftsmanship warranty and a service visit 1 year after install. That way, we can inspect your fence, tighten what needs tightening, and handle any warranty work automatically.

our expertise

Craftsmanship can be hard to come by, but our vetted crews have built thousands of fences all across the greater Austin area. And our owner isn’t just watching from the sidelines. He started out building by hand, and still plays an active role in every single project we install.

WHAT EVERY HOMEOWNER SHOULD ASK (AND OUR ANSWERS)

  • Yes — we are fully insured.

In Texas, there is no state license specifically required for fence contractors. That often surprises homeowners, but it’s simply how the state regulates the trade.

While Texas does not issue a fence contractor license, Paragon Fence & Outdoor is properly insured and registered to request permits from the City of Austin when a project requires one. If your fence or retaining wall project triggers permitting, we handle that process directly.

If you ever have questions about insurance coverage, permitting, or requirements for your specific project, we’re happy to walk you through it. Transparency matters — especially when someone is working on your property.

  • Every client will work directly with our owner — Jefferson — throughout the planning and building process. That means streamlined communication and that you can be confident about who you’re hiring.

We approach every project by looking at the whole property to make recommendations on style and stability so your new project is cohesive with your home and stays looking beautiful longterm. Soil movement, drainage, and slope all matter.

Every project includes a 1-year workmanship warranty, plus a complimentary 1-year service check to make sure everything is settling and performing the way it should. That follow-up matters in Central Texas soil.

If you’re comparing contractors, we’re happy to walk the property and explain what we’d recommend — and why.

  • There are a lot of fence contractors in Austin. Start by looking beyond price and ask about the materials they use.

Here are a few things to look for:

    • Are they insured? Ask for proof.

    • Do they understand local soil conditions? Central Texas clay shifts, and many contractors stop short when they hit rock. Post depth and concrete installation matter.

    • Will they walk the property with you? A contractor should evaluate slope, drainage, and grade — not just measure linear footage.

    • Do they explain their installation process? You should understand how posts are set and how gates are reinforced.

    • Do they offer a workmanship warranty? And just as important — will they still answer the phone a year later?

Also pay attention to communication. Clear, straightforward answers during the estimate phase usually reflect how the project will be handled.

A fence is a structural element on your property. The right contractor plans for longevity, not just installation day.

If you’re gathering quotes, we’re happy to walk your yard and explain what we’d recommend and why — even if you’re still weighing your options.

  • At Paragon, we invest in continued education to bring the best we can to the clients we serve.

Paragon is one of only a couple fence contractors in the area listed with the American Fence Association as being certified in gate automation. That means we’ve completed training and testing to install your gate safely and correctly.

We have also completed training in segmented retaining walls and concrete paver installation with the Concrete, Masonry, & Hardscapes Association.

While some companies may find little to no value in these things, we believe in staying connected to the industry, understanding what’s changing, and continuing to set the standard in a industry that often values speed over quality.
